Namitha Rejected Vijay's Offer

When Vijay invited Namitha to be part of his 'Azhagiya Tamizh Magan', Namitha thought she would be given a role equal to that of the heroine Shriya in the film. What turned out was that Namitha was just reduced to a one-song wonder. Upset with the way she was treated, Namitha reportedly expressed her anger and irritation to Vijay at that time itself.

Now, Vijay has reportedly again got in touch with the 'hot' actress to star in his next film 'Villu' as well. Namitha is reported to have replied curtly that 'she has had enough' and that she won't be part of 'Villu'. Following Vijay's offer that she rejected, Namitha has come out with an open statement stating that she would no more be doing any more on-song sequences in films and that even if she were to be cast as the second heroine, her role should be meaty.

Namitha has further clarified that she won't be giving call-sheets to them unless producers and directors fulfill her condition.

Namitha Say NO to Item Number

Namitha, who did a cameo with Vijay in 'Azhagiya Thamizh Magan' has reportedly refused an offer to do an item number when Prabhudeva approached her for the Vijay starrer 'Villu'.

According to sources, Namitha has refused the offer following her recent decision not to accept cameos or item numbers as she feels they would mar her image.

The actress is currently performing in lead roles in a handful of films, including 'Perumal', 'Indira Vizha' and 'Jagan Mohini'. She played breezy roles in 'Billa' and 'Azhagiya Thamizh Magan'.
Namitha reportedly is mighty keen to continue playing heroine.

An interview with South Indian Glamour Girl Namitha

A combination of beauty and intelligence, South Indian actress Namitha finds her ground.

As a woman she is both sensible and sensitive and as an actor, she is vibrant. Namitha, the diva of glamour, has brought joy and pleasure through her performances to a large audience that comprise of a cross section of society - the so called ‘class’ and ‘mass’ audiences included. The former swimming trainer from Surat is the only daughter among sons in a close-knit family of a textile businessman. She won the ‘Ms Surat’ title in 1998 and three years later she was a semi-finalist in the Femina Miss India Contest and even won the Sony Viewers Choice title.

From modeling to a career in films with Sontham in Telugu being her debut film, Namitha has come a long way within a short period, carving a niche for her in Kollywood. She made her acting debut in Tamil with Engal Anna and followed it with an array of successful films opposite senior actors like Sarath Kumar and Sathyaraj. To top it all, she is perhaps the only heroine among the present lot to act with both father and son (Sathyaraj - Sibiraj). One of the busiest heroines in Tamil cinema today,

Namitha has some big releases lined up for this Diwali that include the Vijay starrer, Azhagiya Tamizh Magan and Billa 2007 with Ajith. Besides she is starring in a Hollywood film, Maya.

How do you react to the statement that Namitha is the diva of glamour?

Of course I feel proud.

It seems you are now concentrating on pairing with young heroes unlike before.Well I have always wanted to be an actor first and never had any differences between old and young. What age is old age? We all grow old every minute, right? Well to get to the point I respect all my heroes and will never wish to concentrate on or differentiate between any of them.

You seemed to have undergone a complete makeover and have slimmed down. What measures have you taken for this new look?

Well, it is not easy for me as I have a tendency to put on weight. So all I have to do is work out hard, more and more and I keep telling myself that “Yes, I am going to make it and never give up.’

When your contemporaries are trying to find a foothold in Hindi cinema, you seem to be content with South Indian films after your debut Hindi film, Love Ke Chakkar Mein. Why?

I feel at home in Tamil Nadu. I am a domicile here. Now this is where I have got love from my fans and lots of love and respect from all my co-stars. And this love and fame that I have got here made me concentrate only on South Indian films, particularly Tamil cinema. This is my Tamil Nadu now and I love it. I have no time even to give a second thought to anything else.

What happened to your debut English film Maya? News is that you are now bailing out the project with financial assistance. How far it is true?

This is news to me. I wish I were that rich and in that case I would have made my own film instead.

Have you any dream role in mind?

A role that can give me recognition as a good artiste besides being called a glam girl.

Which has been your most satisfying role till date?

I am still waiting for one.

The compliment you cherish most from among the heroes?

They all love my dimples. This is what I cherish most.

You started off with Telugu films. But now you seem to be concentrating only on Tamil and Kannada cinema. You are even paired with Darshan for a new project.

That’s right.

What are your current Tamil assignments?

Azhagiya Tamizh Magan and Billa 2007 are complete and ready for release. I have meaty roles in Perumal, 1977, Indra and Maya that are in the making.

Where do you like to holiday and why?

Amby Valley City in Lonavala near Mumbai is the best place in the world.

Have you met your dream boy?

I am still waiting…

Hot Namitha About Her Cute Heroes

“One thing I’ll say about all my heroes is that- I love and respect them unconditionally”. The hot and happening actress Namitha opens her heart out to Moviebuzz in a garrulous mood sitting at her favourite corner table in Match Point at Taj Coromandel, Chennai.

Vijay - Very quiet, silent observer and patient. But when the camera starts rolling, he is a dynamo. I’ve heard from others earlier that he is an introvert but I differ to agree with that. In Azhagiya Tamizh Magan, we shot a song together at Phukhet Islands and it is for the first time that he takes off his shirt in a film in his career so far. He can be stylish without taking any effort and there is a scene in which he wears a white jacket and hat. He looks HOT! He has no airs of a superstar and is so down-to-earth and humble with everyone.

Ajit- He is sweetheart. On the sets, he gets along well with everybody, cracks jokes and makes you comfortable. Is a perfect gentleman, classy, suave and is kind and generous. We realized that both of us are Taurians and Ajit has the best attitude and dress sense in Kollywood. In Billa he looks dashing and you will see a new Ajit in the film. He doesn’t need any occasion to celebrate and everyday is a fun day for him. He spreads happiness around and is good friend and co-artiste.

Sarathkumar- An actor from whom I’ve learnt the most. The role model for many, including me. There are plenty of things that one can learn from him. First and foremost, I have not seen an actor who is so disciplined, passionate about his work and amazingly professional. He looks after himself, his diet, work-outs and is a solid thinker and his talents are unquestionable.

Vikram- He is the Kohinoor diamond of Kollywood. I have not worked with him so far but is a great fan of his. I have seen him in Sethu, Pitamagan and Anniyan and thought that he is intelligent and an actor par excellence. I am looking forward to doing a film with him in near future.

Surya- He is so cute, handsome and has an outstanding personality. I wish someone comes up with a script that will have us working together!

Close on the heels of 'Nam Nadu', Sarath Kumar has commenced shooting to complete 'Vaitheeswaran', expected for a release this Deepavali. By the end of this year, the actor will commence his next venture titled '1977'.

Touted to be an action-packed thriller, the movie features Sarath Kumar in the role of a detective.

He is doing research on how a detective would look and doing his get-up accordingly.

Buzz is that Namitha, who is currently acting with the likes of Ajith (Billa) and Vijay (Azhagiya Tamil Magan) has agreed to play his heroine.

Voluptuous And Fully Loaded Namitha Kapoor

August 5, 2007

The body, the looks, the glamour, you name it she has got it! Yes, Namitha Kapoor one of the most coveted and popular south Indian actress and she is on full throttle and fully loaded to take control of your senses. She has got the guts to show what it takes on the silver screen and she never fails to contribute her part to the overall flavor of the movie.

These days her star value is so high that any movie featuring her can expect a decent reception at box office. Standing a 6 ft tall and weighing more than 70 kg she sure is voluptuous and has made her mark in the hearts of millions of fans. Her beauty, her dance, her figure, her acting, you don’t really have anything in your hand to complains.

She was born on May 10, 1981 in Surat, Gujarat. Her father is a businessman and her mother is a housewife. She started it out in Tamil movies. Her entry to Telugu movies wasn’t very hard because of her modeling background and she even entered in the Miss India contest and came fourth. Malayalam director Siddique introduced her in movies; the movie “Engal Anna”, gave her a big break. Her popularity in Tollywood was increasing and movies like “Gemini” and “Sontam” faired well in the box office. She also appeared in an English film named Maya directed by Eric Manning. Now she has got movies of different languages to her credit, she acted in English, Tamil and Telugu movies in a very short amount of time. This of course is an indication of her commitment and hardworking nature.

Namitha was a tough girl even from her school days. She learned karate and is said to be a black belt now. She wanted to live an ‘on track’ life with discipline and she loved martial arts for a good reason. Her karate tricks once helped her to get rid of a smutty chaser boy who chased her in a bicycle. No matter whatever she do, she never fails to make it to the media, whether it is about giving a helping hand to the tsunami affected by participating in a charity function or about filing a complaint to the police against the bad guys who threatened her boy friend, she is right there in the news. And the media is always happy to get a piece of her or two at regular intervals.

Namitha believes that one should be bold to face the problems that come their way and running away would not be a solution to the problem. This has been like a theory for her to hold on to and fight against bad things that are to be encountered on the way. Everybody knows that the route to the stardom is harsh, but as a tough girl Namitha has successfully managed it all and it is because of the same reason many consider her as a teen idol.

She recently showered her wrath on Parthiban who is the director of her new movie called “Pachakuthirai” for allegedly using her as a ‘glamour doll’ for the movie and not providing her enough script to act on. But the director did not make any response because just like you and me the poor director also knows the reason why that film is still running in theaters.

Though Namitha is the only daughter of her family she wants to go on with her acting career and she dreams about people recognizing her as a good actress even after a long time. Her upcoming projects include “Malligai malare” (Tamil) and “billa 2007” with Ajith. And she is currently shooting “Azhagiya Tamil Magan” with Vijay and “Njan avanillai” with Jeevan.

Nowadays she is working overtime to finish movies. She has got a lot of movies in her hand right now and more is on her way. No matter whatever the deal is, you can’t resist this tall young well built beautiful thing. She got the talent; she got the guts and of course she got a long way- to go.

One more for " Namitha "

Namitha, who is busy with half-a-dozen movies in her kitty, will play the heroine in a movie starring Raghava Larencce.

Noted producer Hitesh Jhabak, after Naan Avan Illai, will churn out a movie titled Pandi. To be directed by Poomagal Oorvalam fame Madhuravan, the movie would have Raghava Larencce donning the male lead.

Sneha is tipped to play the heroine. Sources say it is a two-heroine subject and the director has cast Namitha as the second heroine.

Namitha is awaiting the release of Ajith starrer Billa and Vijay's Azhagiya Tamil Magan. She played prominent roles in both the films. Besides she plays Sundar C's heroine in a movie and a Kannada movie with Darshan.

Tamil Actress Namitha becomes meticulous in choosing

"Bewitching appearance doesn't alone make her successful in Kollywood, but also her enchanting performance. Namitha – glam doll of Tamil cine-industry is having a gleeful moment as she has got handful of films in her hand.

Mingling with Ajith in Billa 2007, Vijay in Azhagiya Tamil Magan and in Kettavan with Simbhu she is just going high with flying colors. Beauty and talent has no boundaries and that could be the reason behind her success not only in Tamil Cinema, but also in Mollywood, Tollywood and Kannada films.

She says that before she before acting in a regional film, she would view the films of respective languages. Her recent film Neelakanda in Kannada has reached the top at Kannada box-office.

Is Namitha Out of Ketttavan

Silambarasan's Kettavan is fast shaping up. Directed by Nandha, the movie features VJ-turned-actress Lekha Washington playing the heroines.

The buzz is that Namitha was playing the second heroine in the movie.

However, rumours are agog that Namitha has not been confirmed for the role. Names of Sherin, who is making a comeback with Urchagam and popular actress Mandira Bedi, are doing the rounds for the role.

Sherin had recently appeared for an item number in Bheemaa with Vikram, while Manidra Bedi had earlier appeared for a song in Silambarasan's Manmadhan.

The final word would be known very soon.

The news is that Namy baby will be one of the two heroines of the Number 2 of Tamil cinema in the film titled Azhagiya Tamizh Magan . The other heroine in the film is Shriya , who is Rajnikant's love interest in the Shankar-directed Sivaji .Incidentally, Nami had almost managed to get the role in Selvaraghavan's Puduppettai too. But, in the end, she lost the role to the sultana of smiles, Sneha . But then, trust Nams to bounce back. And she has done exactly that – in style!
