Namitha Launches "Baby's Day Out"

07-May-2007
Actor Namitha isn't exactly one you would picture dangling a young one from her knee, but she seemed at ease at the launch of an activity centre for kids. After all, she is "just a grown-up child," in her own words.

Baby's Day Out (BDO) on Chamiers Road is a sort of kitty party for the under 12s. Company CEO Vimal Chordia said he and his friends were discussing about the city lacking in quality space for children to play, and soon came up with the BDO concept.

It offers children an air-conditioned playground to develop their mental and physical ability and make new friends.

Spread across 4,200 sq ft, BDO has child-safe slides, a trampoline, library, an audiovisual room with a collection of kiddie movies, indoor games, even a dormitory. It customises meal plans and has a snack counter.

It is open to children aged between 8 months and 12 years.

BDO is open from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. and also serves as a day-care centre. The registration fee is Rs.250, after which charges are per hour or in packages.
