Namitha will be doing the role of the female lead role in the movie Billa, a remake of the yester year movie with the same name. The older version of the movie had Rajinikanth in dual role and the upcoming movie is going to star Ajith in the lead role. There were two heroines in the old movie with Rajinikanth. The new movie will have Nayantara in one of the heroine's role and another heroine is Namitha. Namitha is already working with Vijay for the movie Azhagiya Tamil Magan and the heroine of the movie is Shriya.

Billa, a forthcoming Tamil language film directed by Vishnuvardhan, is a remake of the blockbuster 1981 film, Billa. The film is set to be released in India on November 30, 2007 and is set to be simultaneously released internationally.

Namitha has Close Friendship with Liakath Ali

Namitha, one of the hottest actress in the south, has denied Liakath Ali’s statement that he had close links with her. Liakth Ali, known as kalyana mannan (King of Marriage) by the Tamil media here, disclosed many shocking secrets behind his marriages. Very recently Liakath Ali said that he close friendships with actresses like Nagma, Meena and Namitha. According to his statement, Namitha is one of these close friends amongst these actresses. This has shocked many in Tamil Cinema industry leading to question about her being associated with criminals.

In response to this, Namitha spoke out to the media. She said, “All these reports are rubbish. They are absolutely ridiculous. I have no connection with this trickster. I am willing to go to any court or go through any kind of interrogation to prove this. It is very easy for people to say that they know me or for that matter any other actress. It is up to the police to investigate and prove such statements right or wrong”.

Famous 1964 super duper hit comedy movie Kathalikka Neramillai to be remade again by director manobala. The film is to be produced by Radhika’s Radaan Mediaworks India Ltd.

Vinay, Namitha, sandhiya and keerthi chawla to be act in the lead role. manobala is a veteran director with over 40 films under his belt. Manobala was the director of Rajinikanth’s hit film, Oorkkavalan.

Namitha to Small Screen replacing Simran

Namitha has replaced Simran to be the celebrity judge in “Maanadu Mayiladu”, a dance based reality show on Kalaignar TV.

This weekend show is conceived, produced and directed by noted choreographer Kala Master and it will showcase eight set of aspiring dancers as they struggle to make it in the competitive world of dance.

Maanadu Mayiladu is Namitha’s first entry into Television and she will share her experience and knowledge in dance with a new generation of dancers, and we'll find out if they have what it takes to stand up to her expectations.

Says Namitha: “I have shot two episodes and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The contestants are all so talented and hard working and I am happy to share the job of being judges along with Kala Master and Brinda Master”.

However the buzz is that Namitha, a top actress is paid a whopping amount to be the judge in “Maanadu Mayiladu”.

We realized that both of us are Taurians and Ajit has the best attitude and dress sense in Kollywood. In Billa he looks dashing and you will see a new Ajit in the film. Sarathkumar- An actor from whom I’ve learnt the most. The role model for many, including me. There are plenty of things that one can learn from him. First and foremost, I have not seen an actor who is so disciplined, passionate about his work and amazingly professional. He looks after himself, his diet, work-outs and is a solid thinker and his talents are unquestionable.

Vikram- He is the Kohinoor diamond of Kollywood. I have not worked with him so far but is a great fan of his. I have seen him in Sethu, Pitamagan and Anniyan and thought that he is intelligent and an actor par excellence. I am looking forward to doing a film with him in near future.
