Namitha is appearing as a pearl diver in cinematographer N.K.Viswanathan’s film ‘Jaganmohini’. Though it is reported that this film is a re-make of Vittlacharya’s ‘Jaganmohini’, the stories of these films are different.The new ‘Jaganmohini’is that of a story that took place about 300 years ago.
Majority of the film is being shot in sets as this is a period film. Currently shooting is taking place in a grand set erected at Thirumalai Naicker Mahal in Madurai.It is planned to do further sooting in Visakapatnam, Hyderabad and other places.There again, huge sets will be erected for shooting. The highlight of the film will be the set of a submarine in the Andaman Sea. This is planned at a large scale of investment amounting to many lakhs of ruppes by Art Directgor Krishnamurthy.
Many undersea scenes are planned to be shot. Namitha is acting in the character of a pearl diver.A special camera to shoot the underwater scenes is obtained from Hollywood. It is capable of shooting with lights underwater up to a very high clarity.Director N.K.Viswanathan himself is the cinematogrpher of the film.
Special cameramen will be brought from abroad to shoot underwater scenes.Namitha who is already beautiful will be more so when she dives for pearl. With foreign cameramen shooting underwater scenes, Mohini is sure to frighten!
