Namitha to sizzle in Malluwood with Record Payment

Namitha, the top glamour-puss of Tollywood and Kollywood, has just won a record payment to appear in the Mollywood production The Black Stallion. Kalabhavan Mani will play the hero in the movie.

Namitha has given them bulk dates for which she is reported to have been paid a record Rs 25 lakhs, the highest ever paid to a heroine in recent times to do a Malayalam film.

Namitha first grabbed people's attention with Engal Anna opposite Vijayakanth and did well earlier this year with Billa. She is currently filming four films, including three opposite popular actor Sundar C - Idi, Thee and Perumal. Namitha is famous for her tall and voluptuous stature - she is an amazing six foot tall.

Remember that earlier Pramod and Pappan, were the first to spot the hidden glamour to Nayanthara in her early days when she did their Taskaraveeran opposite Mammootty.

Namitha With Malayalies Black Pearl "Kalabhavan Mani"

This is the first time that Namitha is playing in a full length heroine role in Malayalam.

It is said that Namitha has given them bulk dates for which she is reported to have been paid a record sum of Rs 25 lakhs, the highest ever paid to a heroine in recent times in Malayalam films.

Leading writer Rajesh Jayaram is doing the script and Ouseppachan provides music for this suspense thriller, where Namitha is going to spot a very glamorous look.Pramod and Pappan, the director duo who had launched Nayantara in Malayalam through the movie Taskaraveeran are going to direct this malayalam debut movie of Namitha.

Namitha is a perfectionist when it comes to her art. For the upcoming movie Jaganmohini, she plays the role of a pearl diver and so she has been spending time in the Andaman Islands learning how to scuba dive, so that her action sequences in the film are authentic.

Namitha's fans are so overwhelmed by her that they want to build three temples in her honour so she can be worshipped publicly. This is - to say the least - a fairly strange situation. How does Namitha feel about it? "There is a proposal to build three temples for me in Tamilnadu," she says, "My admirers who want my wellbeing come to me daily with such requests. I don’t know what answer I can give them. I find it hard to say yes. However, I have decided not to disappoint them and to let them go ahead."

Namitha Built her 'Dream Castle' in Mumbai

Not many are aware that the hot and happening Namitha is living at a stone's throw from one of Chennai's busiest thoroughfares, Valluvar Kottam. Namitha's rented apartment isn't an eye-catching one; in fact, it looks quite ordinary from the outside unlike the actress herself who looks dazzling in whatever costume she chooses to wear.

Her residence appears like a typical middle-class apartment and unless told specifically, one can never find out where the hottie lives. Namitha has reportedly built her 'dream castle' in a posh Mumbai area. Those who have seen it marvel at its grandeur and assert that even established Bollywood actors/heroes haven't built such a house in Mumbai.

Meanwhile, Namitha recently had a visitor at her Nungambakkam house whom she treated to a sumptuous dinner. The visitor in question is none other than veteran cinematographer and director of Namitha's next film 'Jaganmohini'. If Viswanathan was awe-struck by Namitha's simplicity in finding such a house in that area, he was simply bowled over by the actress' hospitality.

Viswanathan says that Namitha had been a mind-blowing host and that her hospitality can have no match at all. He even tells those who bother to lend an ear to him that in his career spanning close to four decades, he had never come across such a nice hospitality!

Namitha Decides To Be Full Dressed

The hot and happening Namitha has taken a decision recently regarding her costumes, which, if translated into action, would break the hearts of millions of her fans. The decision is that in future, whenever she takes part in public functions, her dresses would neither look vulgar nor obscene and that she would ensure that she is clad as fully as possible.

Namitha, however, concedes that she would continue to sizzle on screen. 'I would 'expose' to the extent bordering on decency on screen; my decision is only limited to my presence in functions' says Namitha. Her change of heart occurred at a recent function, which Kalaignar Karunanidhi too attended. Almost all those assembled congratulated her saying she looked 'dashing' and 'amazing' in saree.

Namitha strongly feels that she wouldn't have received that much compliments had she gone to the function in a 'revealing' costume. Namitha, the 'Surat Storm', also revealed that she could understand how the audience and her fans alike might feel 'disturbed' on seeing her in a titillating costume.

Namitha Rejected Vijay's Offer

When Vijay invited Namitha to be part of his 'Azhagiya Tamizh Magan', Namitha thought she would be given a role equal to that of the heroine Shriya in the film. What turned out was that Namitha was just reduced to a one-song wonder. Upset with the way she was treated, Namitha reportedly expressed her anger and irritation to Vijay at that time itself.

Now, Vijay has reportedly again got in touch with the 'hot' actress to star in his next film 'Villu' as well. Namitha is reported to have replied curtly that 'she has had enough' and that she won't be part of 'Villu'. Following Vijay's offer that she rejected, Namitha has come out with an open statement stating that she would no more be doing any more on-song sequences in films and that even if she were to be cast as the second heroine, her role should be meaty.

Namitha has further clarified that she won't be giving call-sheets to them unless producers and directors fulfill her condition.

The stills from 1977 look very glamorous. Sarath is paired with three heroines — Namitha, Farzana and Sandhya Shetty — in the movie. The star has tattooed himself all over his body to get that yuppie look. RSK pictures, Sarath’s own production house is making the movie. This film is also said to be his costliest venture.

Now he is pinning all hopes on his new film 1977. “Who said I can do only village-based films? I can do city-based roles with conviction and style. In this film, directed by ad man Dinesh Kumar, I’m doing a dual role as father and son. The film is made like a James Bond type action movie, with lots of style,” says the actor whose fans call him the ‘supreme star.’ Interesingly, 60 percent of this film was shot in Malaysia.

Namitha's New Mission to Maintain her Physique

Namitha is happy with her glamdoll tag. Known for her glamorous portrayals in various films, Namitha prefers to do similar roles in her forthcoming films.

Currently acting in a host of movies including ‘Jagan Mohini’, Namitha says, "These days, an actress has to be very careful on what she wears on public occasions. People may want you to be seen glamorous on the reel but not in real life".

The buxom actress is happy that her films go on to do well at the box office. "I owe everything to my fans", she adds.

Namitha is on a mission right now and that is to reduce her weight. "I am under rigorous diet and am undergoing strict yoga sessions to maintain my physique", she adds.

Namitha struggling with her dance movements

Don’t be surprised if the Sharath Kumar-starrer ‘1977’ would present a ‘struggling’ Namitha. The leading lady, who obviously has developed extra pounds around her waist line, is reportedly struggling with her dance movements.
It is also heard that at a recent shooting of ‘1977’, Namitha was completely off-colour and couldn’t lift her legs even in a song sequence.

The director then reportedly decided to just show off Namitha’s assets, making her emerge drenched from the sea-water instead of making her dance to taxing movements! And to help Namitha get rid of her ‘struggling’ act, the crew imported Sandhya Shetty to add a dash of fresh glamour.

Namitha Say NO to Item Number

Namitha, who did a cameo with Vijay in 'Azhagiya Thamizh Magan' has reportedly refused an offer to do an item number when Prabhudeva approached her for the Vijay starrer 'Villu'.

According to sources, Namitha has refused the offer following her recent decision not to accept cameos or item numbers as she feels they would mar her image.

The actress is currently performing in lead roles in a handful of films, including 'Perumal', 'Indira Vizha' and 'Jagan Mohini'. She played breezy roles in 'Billa' and 'Azhagiya Thamizh Magan'.
