Adding one more to the host of triangle love story in Tamil cinema is Nee Venumda Chellam. Directed by L Venkatesan, the movie is about the romance between a couple (Ramesh and Gajala) which faces protests from the girl's father (Thilakan) and another girl (Namitha), who is crazy behind the hero.
Ramesh, after a decent outing in Jerry, plays a romantic hero with good scope for action sequences, which he has utilized well. Gajala plays a typical heroine who runs around the tree and romances. Vivek playing a fake godman tries hard to evoke humor. Glam-girl Namitha plays a second-fiddle, who appears in skimpy costumes and sacrifices her life towards the end. Thilakan, making a comeback in Tamil after a long gap, plays a selfish father who thwarts her girl's affair. His subtle emotions deserve applause.
The movie begins with Kannan (Ramesh) falling in love with Geetha (Gajala), a girl living in his neighborhood. Her father Viswanathan (Thilakan), a government employee, comes to know of Kannan's crushes on his daughter and plays all tricks and prevents Kannan from reaching out to his daughter.
Anjali (Namitha) also resides in the same locality. Ashok (Vincent Ashokan), a dreaded gangster and Anjali's uncle, makes plans to marry her. He ends up bashing all those who try to propose Anjali.
The turn of events results in Anjali mistaking Kannan of loving her. This results in Ashokan's men go behind Kannan's trail. Meanwhile Kannan manages to meet Geetha and opens his heart-out. Coming to know of this, Anjali manages to kidnap Geetha and threatens Kannan to marry her.
Ramesh has given a decent performance and has improved by several counts. His dance and stunts have improved. Namitha dons a glamorous role. Gajala is also adequate. Vivek fails to impress.

Also in the cast include Nizhalgal Ravi, Kadhal Arun Kumar among others.
Dheena has come up with peppy numbers while Thalapathy Dinesh's stunts are seemingly inspired by The Matrix.
The movie has an interesting storyline, but the director seems to have lost his focus towards the second-half that takes the sheen away from it.
