Glamour Queen Namitha and the Cute Genelia on the Ramp

The Chennai International Fashion Week (CIFW) is progressing at the Le Royal Meridien. The event began on the 16th of this month and is slated to go on till the 20th (Sunday). Marquee attractions at the event will include ramp walks by some of the most popular names in Kollywood and Bollywood.

The names from Kollywood will include glamour queen Namitha and the cute Genelia. They will be joined from Bollywood by Koena Mithra (Honey Honey – Ayan ) and Neil ‘Johnny Gaddar’ Nithin Mukesh. Namitha walked the ramp on the opening day of the week for Chennai based designer Sidney Sladen, Neil too will be walking the ramp for him. Genelia will walk the ramp for Ishitha Puri while Koena will be doing so for Pria Kataaria.

Namitha is currently busy with her Telugu venture Simha with Balakrishna and Nayantara. She is also working in her first Malayalam film Black Stallion, which will be a trilingual in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam.

Sidney Sladen is one of Chennai's topnotch designers and a close friend of Trisha and Ramya Krishnan. Earlier also, the designer has roped in Namitha to launch his second outlet 'Sidney Sladen' at the Le Meridien.

The fashion-conscious actress seems to be a regular client of Sidney. So now we know from where those low necks, sleeveless and high hemlines came from.

Namitha to Pair Up with Prithviraj

Prithviraj will pair up with Namitha for an upcoming Telugu-Tamil bilingual project.Pulleti Durgamohan, who had earlier produced Flash News(Telugu) on the banner of Lakshmi Sindhu Cine Creations, is planning another heavy budget film in Telugu and Tamil languages, with Namitha, Prithviraj, Sonu Sood and Rajiv Kanakala in the lead. Microsal Pvt Ltd is presenting the film,while G Ashok is directing the flick.


Producer says, “Our earlier film Flash News attracted many and won several compliments. We are doing another film with the same team and this time with a little more budget. We are bringing out a new subject with a different narration and the film would be definitely a youthful entertainer. The script work is almost complete. We are planning to go to sets during this month and most part of the film would be shot in Hyderabad only.” Music is by SP Venkat

‘Indiravizha’. How pathetic it is to watch the remake version where there’s no thriller. It’s all about the leading ladies Namitha, Hema Malini and Ragasiya competing with each other on showing their skins to the extreme.

If you’re an intellectual audience, you will just spit on the screens and move out of theatres much prior to intermission. But if you’re actually looking out for the ‘Midnight Masala’ go for this film.

So stupid! And how come the genius filmmaker K. Rajeshwar afforded to make such a nasty film?

Santhosh (Srikanth), a successful channel head has no worries in his life. He has everything including the best job in leading TV Network, a beautiful gorgeous wife Savithri (Hema Malini) and friendly colleagues (Ragasiya and many more). But unexpected arrival of his ex-girlfriend Kaminey (Namitha), now the wife of channel owner (Nasser) turns down his situation upside down. She attempts to seduce him and although Santhosh falls for her aphrodisiacal approach. But gets off back to home as he remembers about loyalty to his wife and Kaminey takes her round of seeking revenge of Santhosh on pulling him out of job. And now, the Santhosh seeks his friend’s (Vivek) help to fight the legal case in court and when things move out of control on the judgment day, his departed wife Savithri herself appears for the case.

What happens next is the worst climax in Tamil Cinema.

As usual Srikanth is filled with lots of enthusiasms in churning out a hit, but what to do. He has been choosing wrong scripts on the row. Namitha can better quit films and try on parallel cinemas (We mean ___) that are more available in internets. What the hell is she actually doing there? With a bulk sized body, she cannot even evoke a sensuous feel and it’s almost like fair hippopotamus jumping here and there in dance sequences. Really wondering how Rajeshwar designs such sequences of a charming guy Srikanth falling for her. Hema Malini wants to compete a lot with Namitha and shows everything to maximum that she isn’t supposed to do so. Ragasiya has cheated Srikanth as a witness due to the threatening of Nasser and of course she does it save her boyfriend. We accept it! But how does she go out and dance in the pub with the same chap for a song. So silly and irritating.

Just go through the sequence where Namitha offers a Singapore-imported chocolate that is available in ordinary petty shops of Chennai today. Know what? Director has termed the chocolate to be ‘Spanish Fly’ that’s almost like a Viagra arousing the sexual desires.

Alas, you can keep counting more and more ridiculous factors in this way. But a long article may turn to be a case study.

Let’s stop it here. It’s merely Vivek who tries to stop the audiences from running out of theatres. But again, there comes Y. Gee. Mahendran a talented actor who acts like a third grade performer. It’s really weird to listen to his Malayalam intonations.

Publicity Designs of the Film Focused on Namitha’s Glamour

Namitha’s next film Indhra Vizha is going to hit the screens tomorrow (Friday). The publicity designs of the film are mainly focused on Namitha’s glamour. The film’s posters and publicity ignored the other cast of the film like Srikanth, Hemamalini and Rahasiya.

Rajeshwar, the director of the movie, said, “Namitha is the USP of the film. So it is but natural that she will be given more importance.”

Namitha is also very happy with the way the director promoted the film using her images. She hopes it would project her as the solo winner of a film like Vijayshanthi.

Namitha to email her 2 lakh fans

Multilingual actress Namitha is leaving no stones unturned to create a buzz about her forthcoming Tamil film Indira Vizha. She will send two lakh email messages to fans requesting them to watch the film in theatres.

Directed by K Rajeshwar, Indira Vizha also stars Srikanth and newcomer Hemamalini, and is touted to be one of the much-awaited movies in recent times.

Rajeshwar said that the e-mailing work has already begun. He is planning to release the film as Namitha’s movie therefore all the promos and ads have her in prominent position leaving little scope for other actors to hog the limelight.
