This time, the spice has travelled South. For, the latest sensation spicing up and setting afire the Tamil and Telugu film industry is a girl from Surat - Namita Vankawala in Surat, Namitha the "heart-stealer" when she is on screen.
Rather the heart, it is the lovely bosom that's doing all the stealing......
this graduate from Surat's MTB Arts College has rubbed shoulders with the biggies, from Venkatesh to Sarath Kumar and Prabhu Deva.
Must have rubbed much more than shoulders.....
She took to acting after being trained in dramatics by theatre artist Kapildev Shukla in Surat.

Hot Namitha Cheated Actor Sarath

Sarath Kumar, president of Nadigar Sangam, is reportedly very upset with Namitha. The shooting of Sarath's home production '1977' was in progress on the 8th floor of AVM studios last week. Sarath, with his make-up on, was awaiting Namitha's arrival for the shoot. Minutes dragged by and there was no sign of Namitha.

When Sarath finally called her up over phone, Namitha reportedly told him that she was not feeling well. The same thing happened on the succeeding day too. An irritated Sarath sent his men to Namitha's residence to know what was cooking. The men couldn't find Namitha at her house and traced her to see if she was admitted to any hospital nearby due to her 'illness'.

Later, it dawned on them that Namitha was, in fact, 'rehearsing' her steps to dance at an award-ceremony conducted by a leading journal. Namitha has reportedly been paid a huge sum for her performance in the programme. Had Namitha informed about her commitment to Sarath, he could have saved a couple of his precious days.

Sarath is now in a catch-22 situation: being the president of Nadigar Sangam, he used to mediate on matters of dispute. Now, where would he go and complain about Namitha's attitude?

Namitha's Perumal Audio Launched By CM Karunanidhi

Chief Minister M.Karunanidhi launched the audio of Perumal on Friday evening at a five star hotel in Chennai. The film has Sundar.C, Vivek and Namitha in the lead and is directed by Vincent Selva.

Chief Minister came for the audio as his grandson M.K Muthu Arivunidhi, has rendered a song for the film. Arivunidhi is the son of M.K Muthu, Kaurnanidhi's eldest son. The film has music by Sreekanth Deva.

The song Kathal Vaipokamey…. is a remix of an old song from K.Bhagyaraj directed Suvar Illatha Chitringal. Bhagyaraj received the album from the Chief Minister at the function.

At the function Karunanidhi spoke at length about the importance of having Tamil titles for films and upholding Tamil culture in films.

He also said that the present day film makers had great freedom compared to those in the 50's and 60's when there were a lot of unnecessary interferences from the censors.

Namitha Equivalent to Hot Six Heroines in Kollywood

Lawrence's latest release Pandi seems to be doing well at the box office and the star has already started working for Rajadhi Raja. This forthcoming film of Lawrence will be directed by Shakthi Chidambaram. It's not news that Lawrence had personally requested Rajinikanth to use the title, which happens to the superstar's smash hit a decade ago.

Rajadhi Raja has six heroines teaming up against the hero. They are: Sniktha, Meenatchi, Mumtaj, Shamiksha , Kamna and Kiran. When the director was questioned as to why he did not consider his favorite heroine Namitha for Rajadhi Raja, he reportedly told that he had to rope in six heroines because she was very busy and was not available. Whew! Six heroines = Namitha!

Namitha`s Telugu Version Jaganmohini to be Launched

Sexy Namitha is doing the remake of Jaganmohini, a trendsetter in 70s. She is cast in the title role that was originally played by Jayamalini. Jaganmohini was a folk thriller that made Jayamalini a big star overnight. It was directed by Vitalacharya.

Now the remake is made in Tamil and Telugu by Vishwanathan and the Telugu version is to be launched on July 21st. Raja is the hero. Meera Chopra is another heroine. H Murali is producing it both in Tamil and Telugu.

It was an evening to remember as numerous stars of the South Indian film industry descended in magnificent splendor on 12th july 2oo8 at the Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium in Chennai.The prestigious annual Filmfare Awards function was held on a grand scale this year as well. The function held to felicitate the ‘Best’ of the artistes and technicians in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam language films and to present them these Awards by the leading film magazine of southern India ‘Filmfare’.

Filmfare Awards are extremely popular in Bollywood. Every year the filmfare awards are held for Bollywood movies. However, there are also South Filmfare awards for south movies. Recently, the award function was held and was attended by several celebrities including some Bollywood clebrities such as Tabu and Katrina Kaif.
